Wagner-Strauss has vast experience in stage and theatre photography. She has been working as a theatre photographer at the Volkstheater in Vienna for seventeen years and for the past fifteen years she has been photographer for the theatre festival "Wiener Festwochen" (Vienna Festival).

The focus of her work is on women and children in their social context.

She feels social responsibility, which she expresses through the artistic means of photography.

She strives to shed a light on the poorest, to portray their dignity, to depict their hope and their

moments of joy - thus stirring the viewers empathy and spurring thoughts and discussions about human fate in

an intercultural context.
